I know I’m skipping ahead here but I just uploaded new pics from yesterday.

On Friday Luisa invited Margarita and I to this charity party for Indian children at this mansion in Cabrils, Spain, north of Barcelona. Luisa said she doesn’t really like the woman but she likes her house, which is definitely beautiful. Half of the crowd was hippie (one couple a 70yr old man who walked around in a sheet with his 28 yr old lover who didnt shave) and the other half families. Except for Luisa’s friend who she met on a dating website and now wants me to go out with, hoorah. It was a really nice party though. Luisa read a poem she wrote, a man played guitar, huge dish of paella, bad djs, bad dancing, pool volleyball, lots of food, and lots of discussion about poor Indian children.

Luisa loves to dance. So much that she insisted on having an awkward dance party in the living room at 3am after the party with just me and Margarita. I tried to teach her how to do the soulja boy, she likes doing her jumpy side-to-side dance though. The night was interesting, but a nice break from the norm.

Today the new roommate came. She’s from Seattle and doesn’t know Spanish that much, but I think she’ll survive. Somehow she still had energy in her after the sleepless flight, so we went to the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona which is free on Sundays and saw this exhibition called “Quinqui de los 80s” which basically was about the Spanish adolescent gangs in the 70s and 80s and its portrayal in Spanish cinema. Very interesting, lots of risque film clippage.

then we walked around La Rambla and ate the obligatory paella, but it was really good.
